Primary affiliation

Administrators can create custom fields to define a primary affiliation for each record.

You can choose the type of primary field configuration to use:

Network Calculated - Use if you want Network to calculate the primary address for you.
Unique Checkbox - You assign and maintain the primary affiliation; Network does not recalculate the primary flag by default.

There are options to allow Network to calculate a primary in some situations to ensure that a primary is assigned to an affiliation.

Primary affiliation considerations

A primary affiliation must be active and valid (Network Calculated only).
Primary affiliations can be Network-managed or user-managed.
Network-managed primary affiliations can be automatically defined based on a set of business rules.
On each record, only one affiliation can be set to primary for each Unique Checkbox and Network Calculated primary field.
