Using Network Address Inheritance with Vault CRM
DM

ST
Network Address Inheritance automatically copies the address of a parent HCO to its child HCP or HCO. This feature is available in Vault CRM to help you easily manage addresses at the business account level.
Supported records
The feature is only available on accounts that are managed in Network.
The link between a child address and the parent address is provided and maintained by Network and is pushed to CRM.
Note: If some accounts are managed locally in Vault CRM (CRM Managed Account Types or Third Party Managed Account types), the address link between the parent HCO and its child HCP/HCO is not maintained.
Network configuration
Network administrators must complete the following tasks:
Vault CRM configuration
Vault CRM administrators must complete the following tasks:
- Enable the feature by configuring the Support Network Address Inheritance Network Setting with a value of 1.
- Map the Network fields (Address object) to the CRM fields (address__v object).
For full details, see Vault CRM Help: Network Address Inheritance.
Field mapping
Vault CRM administrators must map the following Network fields to these Vault CRM fields.
Network Field | Vault CRM Field | Details |
---|---|---|
parent_address_vid__v | controlling_address__v | The VID of the synced address on the Parent HCO. In Vault CRM, the VID is translated to the Vault ID of the synced parent address. |
parent_address_sync__v | controlled_address__v |
Status that indicates if the child address is synced with the Parent HCO's address. The reference values for these fields must also be mapped between Network and Vault CRM. |
parent_address_entity_vid__v | controlling_parent_account__v | Stores the VID of the Parent HCO that the address was copied from. In Vault CRM, the VID is translated to the Vault ID of the Parent HCO. |
Reference mappings
To ensure that addresses are properly synced, map these reference values for the parent_address_sync__v field (Network) to the values for the controlled_address__v field (Vault CRM).
parent_address_sync__v | controlled_address__v |
---|---|
S (synced) – Sync with the parent address if it exists. | True – The address is synced with its parent address. |
R (re-sync) – Sync with the parent address if it exists. | True – The address is synced with its parent address. |
U (unsynced) – Break the sync between the parent address and the copied address. | False – The address is not synced with its parent address. |
D (Disqualified) - The previously sync copy address should no longer exist. | False – The address is not synced with its parent address. |
Inheriting addresses in Vault CRM
The inherited addresses that are managed in Network are synced to Vault CRM using the following processes.
Process | Type | Details |
---|---|---|
Network Bridge | Scheduled | When records are pushed from Network to CRM through scheduled bride jobs, the inherited addresses are populated in the CRM fields on child accounts. |
Network Account Search | Real-Time | When users search for a child account (HCP or HCO) and downloads the account and the parent that has the controlling address, the inherited address is included in the download. |
Data Change Requests | Real-Time |
When a DCR is submitted from CRM, Data Stewards will see the inherited addresses populated in the Network fields on the DCR. If the DCR is approved, the inherited address is populated on the child account in CRM. If the Network and CRM fields are not mapped, Data Stewards can link the addresses on the DCR. For details, see Managing Network Address Inheritance in DCRs. |
