Review the following frequently asked questions (FAQs) for the Network MDM workflow.

General

What is the Inbox in Veeva Network MDM?

The Inbox is where you receive and manage data change requests (DCRs) and potential duplicate records (Suspect Matches) that require your attention.

What can I find in my Network MDM Inbox?

Tasks related to data changes, record merges, and other data stewardship activities.

What actions can I take within the Inbox?

You can review, approve, reject, or take other actions on DCRs and Suspect Matches.

Can I filter the items in my Inbox?

Yes, you can filter your Inbox to focus on specific types of requests or records.

Can I save my specific Inbox filter settings for future use?

Yes. You can save inbox configurations as Inbox Views. This allows you to quickly switch between different filtered tasks—such as high-priority DCRs or specific record types—without manually reapplying filters each time you log in.

Is there a way to export a list of tasks from my Inbox?

Yes. You can export tasks into a CSV file for offline review, reporting, or sharing. This allows team members without access to your specific Inbox view to review task lists.

Data change requests

What are Data Change Requests (DCRs)?

Formal requests to modify data within Veeva Network MDM.

How can I see the requests I've submitted?

You can view your submitted requests in the "My Requests" section of your profile.

How does multi-level DCR approval work?

Network MDM supports workflows where a Data Change Request (DCR) requires approval from multiple individuals or groups. Once an initial steward approves a change, multi-level approval rules automatically route the request to subsequent approvers before the final data is committed to the system.

Suspect matches and merges

What is a Suspect Match in Network MDM?

A potential duplicate record identified by the system that needs to be reviewed for a possible merge.

What do I do when I find a Suspect Match?

You review the details of the potential duplicates and decide whether to merge them or dismiss the match.

Who can see Suspect Match tasks in the Inbox?

Access is restricted by user roles and assigned task groups. Typically, Data Stewards, Data Managers, and System Administrators are responsible for reviewing these potential duplicates to decide whether to merge or dismiss them.

Notifications and administration

What are "Job Notifications" in the Inbox?

Job Notifications are a specific task group for Administrators that flag failed jobs or job warnings from subscriptions. This allows you to identify and troubleshoot data loading issues directly within the workflow interface.

Where can I find more details on working with specific types of Inbox items?

The Veeva Network MDM documentation provides detailed guides on managing DCRs and Suspect Matches.
