Formatted name

A formatted name displays for health care providers (HCPs) in the Network user interface on the profile page and in search results.
The formatted_name__v field uses values from several name fields to display a complete name for an HCP. (For HCOs, the corporate_name__v field is used on the profile page and for search results).
Whenever records are loaded in your Network instance or DCRs are submitted, if there isn't a value for the formatted_name__v field, Network will calculate the value using the available name fields. Internal rules are defined to identify the fields that are used to calculate the formatted name for a specific country. For example, most countries use the first name and last name but some countries also include a middle name, prefix (Hr.), or suffix (Jr.) for an HCP.

Formatted name calculation rules
Default rule
For countries that do not have specific rules, the default rule is used to calculate the formatted_name__v field for HCPs.

Field order
The name is calculated using the Veeva (__v) fields in the order that they display in the table below.
The formatted name is recalculated when any of the fields in the country formula change on the HCP.
Language
The Language column identifies the translation language for the reference fields (Prefix and Medical Degree) that are included in the name calculation formula. If a language isn’t specified, the reference data is localized in that country’s language.

Chinese names
Chinese full names that contain the special interpunct (.) character are split into the first name and last name fields.
The full name is split at the special (.) character. The last name is the full name value before the interpunct character (.) and the first name is populated with the value after the special character.
